    Hi y'all,

I can sucessfully put together and preview a DVD project of captured
MPEG-2 (or DV) files. When I click "Burn" or try and generate DVD
folders, nothing happens. I don't get the hardware selection dialog,
just the hourglass cursor which never goes away. Nothing short of
restarting the system will allow me to continue as the application
    will not exit gracefully.

My burner is an HP-200i IDE internal, has latest firmware from HP.
System is a dual-1.4 GHz Xeon with 1 GB RAM, 200 GB hard drive
formatted as NTFS with about 170 GB free, fresh install of Windows XP
and SP1, plus DirectX 9.0b. Should be sufficient to get the job done,
    I'd think...

I've tried several different files sources, including sample MPEG
files provided by Sonic tech support, complete OS, DirectX and app
reinstall, nothing seems to make any difference.
Same behavior seen on both version 4.5 as well as previous 4.04
install. Same behavior seen with both FAT32 and NTFS formatted drive.

Has anyone seen this problem and perhaps have a suggestion? The system
works fine using Ulead VideoStudio 7 to edit and burn DVDs.

    Thank you,

I had nothing but problems with MyDVD. I spent many
weeks trading email with Tech Support people who were
little or no help. Finally I chucked the whole thing and
bought Vegas 4.0. If that's too much for you, try their
    entry level NLE Video Factory.
