Is not a joke, it is sarcasm.

Security guards heard him and interpreted as a challenge of their authority or disrespect. So they abused their position by doing the worst they are allowed to do under the law.

And they will play dumb and say they really thought a while male travelling with wife and 2 kids with a jar that looks like peanut butter and smells like peanut butter, was a security risk.

If those security guards were like the one's I met on some flights, they
won't have to "play" dumb. I think this guy just lost his patience.

Dan, what you have to understand about the USA today is that sarcasm, like all
other responses to unexpected or uncivilized behavior, has to yield to our new
national characteristic: overreaction. We overreact to everything. It's
epitomized by our reaction to 9/11, but was already underway by then. Every
bad thing that happens requires an immediate crackdown, another war, tougher
laws, longer sentences, new restrictions, etc., etc., etc., etc. Anything less
    would be nothing but a mealy-mouthed, wishy-washy, namby-pamby, flabby-wabby
imitation of European liberalism, to be detested and eschewed. Get with the
program and embrace the New Reality. :^|

You still dont say stuff like maybe there are explosives in there at an
airport. Just like you dont scream fire or gun at a movie theater.

Abuused, they FIUking for once did their job.

The guy was a duche for talking like that up front of his kids.

Hey, you are getting personal here. I speak like that and I will teach my son to speak like that.

Enjoy your freedom of speech and travel and thank those security guards for guarding it.
