Capture from Mini DV - unable to capture audio

I saved a project I did in Premiere by playing it and recording to a
camera - Mini DV. Plays back fine on the camera w/audio.

Now I'm trying to "re-capture" the video (from the camera/Mini DV via
firewire) and I can capture the video - but no audio gets captured. I've
tried Premiere, Moviemaker, ulead, Sorenson - all with the same result -
    video but no audio.

I tried using a product called "Scenalyzer" - and that does capture both the
video and the audio - but I'm getting some stuttering - not smooth.

Anyone have any ideas about what might be going on with the "no audio"
    capture?

(All other DV tapes that I record with the same camera - no problem - only
this tape that was done in Premiere.)

Check Premiere's output settings...ALL of them. It could be that you
have exported audio at some non-standard rate (44.1 kbps versus 48,
etc) that the camcorder will tolerate but nothing else will.

  3. Make sure your settings match that of the camcorder, i.e. audio settings.
Sometimes when using a preset for capture using 48kHz 16bit no audio will be
passed across if the camcorder was recording in 32kHz 12bit.
