So far my heart has been set on the SD800is, but wwith this Casio
model below, that seems to be my dream point-and-shoot based on the
    features.

I know that Canon is historically 100x the name that Casio is, but is
Casio really still a shitty company or have they improved? Eg; going
on a holiday across the continent, would you feel comfortable taking
Casio or should I wait until Canon can make a camera as below?

    TIA!

    Hello, K202:

Casio is crummy? Hardly! It's renowned for far more than just digicams,
which is something of a sideline business, if you will.

By the way, Casio is a leading supplier of LCD video panels, found in
    various brands of digital cameras.
