Cell Phone video

Discussion in 'Amateur Video Production' started by My_Cat_will_get_you, Jul 22, 2005.

  1. Do they have cell phones yet that can transmit a video cam signal
to the internet for dl/save to pc? If not, is there equipment to
do this that is small enough to be concealed on one's person?
Sorry, don't know much in this subject.

I do not know about cell phones. I thought there were several that
could take a amll clip and email it.

There are certainly micro cameras that will transmit to a remote (think
breifcase) recorder. The use of these are illegal in some
circumstances, especially if you record sound.

    Search on micro cams.

  3. Thanks for the reply. Seems like a small step between transmitting
    stills and video, no?

  4. Not really.

Transmitting ONE still frame is relatively straightforward. Transmitting
30 of them each second is quite a different ball of bandwidth wax.

Or perhaps a food analogy will help. Eating ONE typical sized chocolate
chip cookie in one second is easy, but eating 30 of them in that same
time period is decidedly more difficult.

(Wow, time to shut down the computer and get a snack!)
