Chipmunks using DVD-Lab; A little help please?

Discussion in 'Amateur Video Production' started by Mark A. Smith, Nov 25, 2003.

  1. I have tested DVD-lab twice now, gotten same results.

Using Mainconcept encoder from Premiere 6.5 (Windows) on the default High
bit-rate settings. I have burned the DVD using my Pioneer A-05 on both DVD-R
    and DVD-RW.

It plays back fine on my Windows machine, from the folder and from the disc,
    using Sonic Cineplayer.

When I put the disc in my Mac (G4 450, AGP graphics), it plays like
chimpmunks singing. The video and audio are sped up and out of sync. I get
the same result in my XBOX (my only other DVD player, no standard set-top
player). The XBOX plays every DVD release thrown at it, and played discs
authored on DVD Workshop using the same burner.

Here is the other thing. When I made the test DVD, I used the same same test
MPG-2 as a First Play movie - without any audio. (It was actually a trim of
the first movie). The first play movie played at the right speed.

I am thinking it has something to do with the audio files, but not sure
what. The properties of the audio are 48k PCM audio. Couldn't find an FAQ,
or any other obvious source of info. Any ideas out there?

What version are you using? Have you checked that the peak bit rate is
not too high? Are all your audio files the same for all movies?

There is a very active forum at http://www.mmbforums.com/ which may be
useful to you... although personally I prefer newsgroups, sometimes you
just don't get the answers on here.
