Cleaning Tamron 28-200 XR Lens?

I've tried various optical cleaning solutions (Rexton, Clear Sight,
Canon, and even mild soap and water) on this lens and everyone of them
leaves a white residue after my wiping. I use lens tissues and a
microfiber cloth as well with no luck. I'm afraid to rub hard on this
lens so as to not damage the coatings. Any advice would be
appreciated on how to remove this white residue.

    Thanks in advance.

Try a LensPen. You can get them at WalMart or KMart for less than $10.
They work very well, and leave no residue. Be sure to use the brush first,
    to get the dust off.

Will that remove the current residue?

I couldn't say for sure, but I find the Lenspen works pretty good at
    getting smudges off filters.
