Compatibility: Canon EOS Digital Rebel and Sigma EF 500 ST flash?

    Hi All,

I just recently purchased one of the new Canon EOS Digital Rebel
cameras and already owned a Sigma EF-500 ST flash. I can't seem to get
the flash to work on the camera. It fires a test flash fine when you
press the button on the flash, but it doesn't fire when in TTL mode
    when mounted on the camera.

So, I'm wondering if this is a compantibility issue, or if something
about these particular units isn't working correctly?

    Many thanks in advance!

    Much warmth,

  2. You need a flash that is ETTL (Canon EX series or Metz 54 MZ3) and not
TTL... you may find that it will work in manual if your lucky.

That's because the camera doesn't support TTL, only ETTL.

Search (Google, Goggle Groups, dpreview, etc) for "10D TTL" or "D30 TTL"
and you'll find all the info you need...

Ohh.. and anyone want to buy a SunPak AF4000 flash?
