Conerting HI 8 video to BEST Quality computer file

Is there a hi 8 deck which has component outputs. I mean the 3 connectors, not S-video. I want to get the best quality possible from my hi 8 tapes. Presently i come out with an S video signal to a Kona card and save it uncompressed. I tried firewire output from Digital 8 decks but this is a compressed signal and a smaller size (height x width) than the Hi-8 S signal gives me. In other words it seems to decrease the size of the video picture, not just compress the file size.
