to a .mpg or .avi format ? ( the files are on the monthy python complete
waste of time cd ( about 7 years old ) and seem to be in a .bin format
which i have been told is a old mac format )

A Mac ".bin" file is, simply stated, a binary file with the separate
Macintosh Resource and Data forks combined into a single file. It could
be an executable, a document, audio, video or just about anything. It
would need to be decoded using Stuffit Expander aka Aladdin Expander to
see what kind of file it actually is. If it's video it's likely
Quicktime, probably QT2 or 3 if it's that old, and Quicktime player
should be able to show it.
