I have been experienceing a problem with my Nikon Coolpix 5000 LCD
monitor. When I turn on the camera, all I get is an all white display
on the monitor instead of an image. At first the problem was
intermittent, usually fixed by turning the camera off and on again.
Now even this doesn't work. I've also tried removing the battery for
an extended period of time and using a new battery.

The camera still shoots using the viewfinder and I'm able to download
    the images to my computer.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

Have you tried the Nikon support group on their web site? I had two
questions about my Coolpix 5700 and they answered them very well. It
    was a great help

Try ... http://tinyurl.com/u9f and create a login for yourself. you
will need your camera's serial number.
