Now that I am taking digital pics of everything and anything, I want to
create a slide show and add appropriate music to the sequences. Can anyone
    suggest software that does that?

  2. Apple's iPhoto does it instantly and in a fixed sort of way. But it works.

Yes - Look at a prog called "PicturesToExe"

The programme will produce professional quality slide shows.

I have used it to produce many slide shows complete with music and or
sound track. If you have an MP3 recorder and a microphone - you can
make a commentary sound track fade in/out music.

Add the photos - hit compile and the resultant exe can be played as a
    stand alone product.

What is great is that you can set the time line to the
music/commentary and insert the photos at the time needed according to
    the commentary/music.

Alternatively set up a directory of photos add a music file as
background - set the duration per picture - done

Fully customisable... The full prog is available from:
www.wnsoft.com Version 4.2 is the latest, only 1.4 Mb download. The
download will allow 10 photos in a slide show. Registering it will
allow unlimited pictures in a slide show

Why not download a couple of the compiled slide shows to look at to
make sure it fits the bill. Take a look at:
    www.wnsoft.com/download.htm

    Cheers

  5. I like PhotoShow from Simplestar. It's inexpensive, can try it out for free
and is very flexible. Works great for me. Download it at
