    Well I took the plunge and ordered two. However, I do now have a
    reservation in this regard. In addition to the order confirmation
    e-mail I received another stating:

    Your Purchase is Guaranteed

    As a thank-you for buying, Cameta Camera has purchased you a buySAFE
    3-in-1 Guarantee. You are receiving this email as a receipt of the
    benefits provided and described below.

    This is not a subscription service and there is no charge, now or
    ever, for the benefits that have been provided.

    buySAFE Certificate of Guarantee

    etc.

    Now buysafes privacy terms state:

    Surveys
    From time-to-time we request that users participate in a survey.
    Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary. The requested
    information typically includes contact information and some
    demographic information (such as zip code). Contact information will
    be used to notify the winners and award prizes. All personally
    identifiable information collected is never shared with third parties,
    unless the visitor has specifically agreed to such sharing. While we
    may use a vendor to conduct these surveys or contests, such a vendor
    may not use the personally identifiable information for any unrelated
    purposes.

    And guess what? Less than 12 hours later I received a survey e-mail at
    the specific e-mail address I used for the order. As I didn't ask for
    the buysafe guaranty I'm not terribly happy about this. Doubt I'd ever
    give Cameta any additional business.

    I was not aware of that policy. Since they are local, my dealings have
    all been in person. And they do not have a bait & switch reputation.

    Well my call to customer service in regard to this started off well,
    but in the end it was " well I get spam too and I even get calls on my
    cell phone."

    So I won't do business with them again period and wouldn't recommend
    doing business with them through the web site until they ditch this
    supposed add-on plus that imo is way more of a minus.

    Based upon your experience, I will think twice before giving them a
    positive recommendation, at least for web sales.

    I can't prove this is related to this purchase, but I just had a
    fraudulent charge noted by the CC issuer of the card used for this
    purchase, which has now been denied and the card cancelled. Too much
    of a coincidence for me. I'd stay away!

    I had some suspicious attempted charges after I had used a card at one
    restaurant. (my credit card company called to ask if I had purchased a
    $20,000 jewelry item in Hong Kong.) Since I liked to eat there, the next
    time I went I gave them a low limit card, which I use for Internet
    purchases from unknown sellers. No suspicious charges appeared, and in
    that case, it was merely coincidence.

    Or perhaps the staff member who used your details the first time had been
    sacked, or wasn't working the night night you went back.

    MIght be a valid thesis, except I have been back multiple times, same
    people, no suspicious charges.
