    Subject says it all.
Are any pictures this ghost of a camera has actually taken posted
anywhere on the Internet or do we just speculate about it for a few months?

As is typically the case with Nikon, they announce LONG before it's "out
    there."

Shipping is supposed to be by the end of December.

That isn't such a terrible wait after announcement.

Mine is on order & I'll be happy if I get it before March '06.

Wasn't it the last time you went on about this that Henry Posner pointed out
all the times Canon has done the same...?

    I don't know what you're talking about.
    ??
The last time I "went on" about anything referring to Nikon, it was in my
post alerting people to the official announcement of the D200 last week, and
my impression about what a great camera it appeared to be.

Actually, Canon has a history of very speedy announcement-release wait
times, though frankly they also have a history of releasing products that
    need more care before release.

Sorry if I've got a case of mistaken identity there; just taking a look back
for a few minutes, I've found one example of Henry saying, "ROFL It took
Canon a year+ to get the 400mm f/4 DO-IS EF USM from announcement to
retailers. " (on aug 25, 2004), but not to you. The example I'm thinking of
came more recently--not that I'm insisting it's you.

    There are many Marks here...
-I don't think it was me.
The Canon DO lens was a bit of an exception, I think.
That was an entirely unique design, and there was much talk about it early
    on.

And why would I want to do that Juan?
Technical analisys of the images is what I want to see some for.
