    hey everyone

I was wondering what the differences in the older Tamron SP 90mm
lenses (manual)and the newer version were. Besides cost, is the newer
model better coating? sharper? better contrast? Anyone have
experience with both? thanks in advance for any help.

The older Tamron 90mm macro was f/2.5 minimum aperture. Newer ones
with autofocus are f/2.8 minimum aperture. I never used the older
manual focus type, but its reputation is excellent.

The newer autofocus 90/2.8 macro was updated with a focus limiter,
then later with a manual-focus clutch. Optics were unchanged.
