Different vendors of C-41 chemistry.

Discussion in 'Darkroom Developing and Printing' started by Victor E. Falkteg, Aug 6, 2003.

  1. Since a long time I'm using Fuji C-41 chemistry. Now I standardise on Kodak
Portra films. Does anybody know if there is a difference when using
differend vendors chemistry for a specific film?
Is it worth to try Kodak chemistry for Kodak films? Or will the result be
the same whatever C-41 chemistry I use. The C-41 is by definition a
standardizied proces, but are there anyhow slight differencies?

Somebody maybe have experience from changing C-41 chemistry.

    Regards

A few years ago, I changed from Photocolor to Tetnal chemicals. There
was some difference in contrast but nothing major. I did recalibrate my
process. If you are happy with Fuji chemicals, I suggest that you
continue using them to process Kodak films.
