    Hello -

I'm seeking a digital camera that can also act as an always-on webcam.

    Any suggestions?

    Some other requirements - about 4M pixels, red-eye, USB 2.0, movie-mode.

    Thanks in advance,

    Simon.

  2. My son has a Sony digicam that does this well. I don't know the model
    number.

Fuji make some digital cameras which double as webcams.

Check them ot here :- www.stevesdigicams.com

If memory serves, Several of the manufacturers have a webcam mode download
for almost all of their cameras, but it is hard to find one that does 640*480
or larger and can keep up a decent speed at the same time, while it also has
a large enough open lens to NOT require a lot of lighting yet also has enough
depth of field to not have a limited area that is in focus. As the number of
pixels or meg goes up, all of the above becomes more difficult to attain. If
you want a camera that works well when it is dark, you need one that works
with minimal lux and most of the vendors do NOT tell you that information.
