    Hi all.
I've currently got a fuji 6900 which I'm happy enough with , but some times
I'd like a higher magnification than the 6x optical zoom (and a tripod to go
    with it).

The S5600 looks like it could be a decent option with a 10x zoom and good
enough resolution. Has anyone used one that can say if it's any good?

Anything else worth looking at in a similar price range , say £200-£300

  2. I have a Fuji 6900Z with which I am still very happy. I use it when I
need to use flash (as it has a hot shoe - I don't regard built in flash
as anything but Mickey Mouse solution.)

But I confess that I am a fan of the Panasonic FZ-5 especially fro its
    brilliant anti-shake implementation.

    Now replaced with FZ-7

Some newsgroup contributors appear to have confused
the meaning of "discussion" with "digression".

That looks to be a sensible choice , thanks.
I'll have a closer look at one when I get the chance.
