Digital & fish-eye lens?

    What effect, if any, would a digital 1.6 magnification (Canon 10D, for
    example) have on a 15mm fish-eye lens? Would you lose some of the
    distortion around the edges?

    Yes apparently so, it removes much of the effect, that's why Nikon has a
    crop frame 10.5mm (IIRC)fisheye... of course Canon has full frame
    options Nikon doesn't have.

    Yes, a lot less distortion, but still noticeable.

    Here's a picture taken with my D70 and Sigma 15mm f/2.8 fisheye
