Digital Storage Devices

Discussion in 'Photography' started by Brian Henderson, Jan 26, 2005.

  1. Hello all, I am a newbie to this group (so bear with me) and have
learned quite a bit in the last week or so. I am looking for a
recommendation on some of the digital storage devices available (i.e.
you insert CF, MMC/SD storage card and it downloads to a hard drive for
storage thus freeing up the card for more pictures). I am interested in
products by nixvue, jobo, and smartdisk. Any recommendations?

Additionally, I have a iPod and has anyone had any experience with the
products that allow the download of storage cards to the iPod?

I don't know if this helps. I have a 2 gig Hitachi microdrive in my
Konica-Minolta A2. I was worried how delicate it might be. Well I was
standing on a hill side looking at some petroglyphs after photographing them
what I was standing on was a boulder in the sand. It rolled I went down hard
the camera hit the rocks hard enough to eject the microdrive after picking
up the parts I thought I slipped the drive back in the camera thinking all
my images would surly be gone but there they were. A bit of cleaning and all
was well camera and drive. I am impressed with both.
