    2004 DIY FILM FESTIVAL - REGISTRATION DEADLINE LOOMS

    LOS ANGELES (January 10, 2004) _ The entry deadline for the fourth
    annual DIY Film Festival, part of the DIY Convention, arrives on Jan.
    25th.

    The event honors independent and self-produced feature and short
    films in the drama, comedy, documentary and animation categories made
    after Jan. 1, 2001 and shot in DV, Beta, HDTV, 16mm or 35mm.

    All entries must be created using commonly-available tools of
    independent filmmaking without financing from a major film studio or
    corporate backer.

    Submitted films will be judged by a panel of industry experts using
    the following criteria:

    1) The filmmaker's ability to tell an interesting and amusing story.

    2) The unique use of DIY marketing resources in making and marketing
    the film.

    Selected films will be eligible for screenings at our gala 2004 DIY
    Film Festival and for year-round screenings in Los Angeles and other
    cities hosting DIY Convention events, including San Francisco, New
    Orleans, New York, Austin, among others.

    Film festival submissions should be on VHS-NTSC or DVD and cannot be
    returned. A registration form is available online at
    www.diyconvention.com under "upcoming events," or can be registered
    by phone by calling 323-665-8080.

    Grand prize winner for the 2004 competition will receive a pressing
    of 500 DVD copies of their film, courtesy of Discmakers. Other prizes
    include camera package rentals, software and books. All entries
    receive free admission to the DIY Convention events on Feb. 5-7,
    including the opening night party, DIY film festival and DIY panels
    and workshops.

    The 2004 DIY Convention and Film Festival is sponsored by BMI;
    Primera's Bravo CD/DVD Disc Publisher; Discmakers; Sound Exchange;
