One feature I like on my compact Fuji F455 is the docking base which I have
fixed to my computer desk. It means I never have to open the battery hatch,
uncover usb sockets or take the memory card out. It always appears to me
that the hatches and covers are the most flimsy part of a camera. It is so
easy to just drop it into the dock, the battery gets charged as I download.
    Nothing to lose or damage.

Any counter arguments for a docking base as they don't seem to have caught
    on?
