Does Anyone knows the film-plane distance of Contaflex ?

    Does Anyone know the film-plane distance of Contaflex ?

  3. If you mean "lens register" or "flange distance", the distance from
    the lens mounting flange to film plane, I'm afraid the concept doesn't
    apply. You can't remove the lens of a Contaflex. The later Contaflex
    models allowed you to remove the front part of the lens and mount
    other elements to get different focal lengths, but there's no way to
    remove the back part of the lens. I suspect this was because of the
    leaf shutter, which wants to be mounted between lens elements. Either
    you leave at least part of the lens mounted, or you take the
    Hasselblad 500 route and put a shutter in each lens. The latter was
    unacceptable here, as the Contaflex was a lower-cost brother to the
    Contarex. I think the Kodak Retina Reflex and Instamatic Reflex used a
    similar scheme.
