  4. I don't plan on installing Vista until MS no longer supports
XP. That will be at least 5 years by my estimate. I am
usually wary of "new" operating systems from MS, and
Vista is as scary as I've ever seen. It is only "progress"
    for Microsoft and DRM rights-owners.

  5. Well, it is an advancement in user security. But I heard of so many people
who switched off the User Access Control straight away ;-)
It offers DX10, which is supposed to be very interesting for games. But,
how about NLE??? Would be interesting to know.
In hardware requirements, it is a disaster, and certainly not recommended.

I have Vista ultimate installed and - to be honest - for NLE it doesnt
really make much difference to me.

However, in certain other areas I do like it. For the record these are as
    follows:

    1) I like the way you can better manage still photos. Printing is alot
easier and the ability to edit some of the exif info is also useful to me.

    2) Because the Ultimate edition includes MCE and I have an Xbox 360 with
built MCE extender storing footage on disk for viewing in other locations in
the house is very good. May seem trivial but the kids love to watch edited
home movie footage it is much easier to store this on disk and they access
    through the remote MCE interface,

There are some other features which I like, but they are not related to
    still/video processing.

Please have the courtesy to remember these are only my opinions - I'm sure
    others will differ!

How about general print management. It seems that the print queue has
not been changed at all since windows 95. We have an office with
probably half a dozen printers, and even some of those have multiple
slot choices, so people are forever getting stuff jammed up in the queue
and get lost trying to clear it. Yeah, I know, its not that hard really,
    but...real world and all that.

I understand that if nothing else, it's prettier!

I like the interface (am running the aero version) but may that its
    different.

One thing I do detest (and this is way OT ) is the new version of
office....just why have they changed the UI??!!

if anyone has found the office 2007 "change this product back to something
    usable" please let me know...

  9. You mean you haven't seen the video that explains why the new UI is so
    much better?
