Maybe Rob needs to learn how to configure it? Maybe Rob is nothing but a
    Nikon shill after all?

maybe dpreview doesn't have a clue how to test AF?

Because it works for them? Isn't it the clueless ones who CANNOT get
    things to work?

According to them, it works *if* one spends the time to fine tune it.
Wasn't the whole argument for AF that it's "simple and easy"? Looks like the
clueless at Canon have once again made a mess of it...

No, the simple reality. The one Canon shills in the usenet refuse to admit exists.

You mean that one has to learn how to use a sophisticated tool in
order to get it to work well?

    Golly!
    No.

I remember Ludicrous Landscape's glowing review of the Leica M8, in
which the sycophant Reichmann completely missed the very serious
infra-red problems with that camera's sensor that almost brought Leica
    Camera to its knees.

Truth is he didn't miss it, he just chose not to report it. He's sipped the
Leica Kool Aid and can't be trusted for hardware reviews. Kind of like his
infatuation with the Sony A900, despite it's amazingly high noise levels.

Or biased. Take a look at the RG site's 'about" page and see if the resume
of his writer seems to indicate any bias.

    Hmmmm......

I chose not to make that allegation, but you are far from alone in
    making it.

Ludicrous Landscape panders to a certain class of camera user who
demand that they feel good about their purchases, regardless of any
flaws. Reichmann massages their egos and reassures them that their
brand loyalty is justified, even when it isn't.

Heck, *especially* when it isn't. ;-)

The trouble is, when a really good product comes along, such as the
Leica M9, Reichmann's praise of it doesn't seem in any way credible in
view of his earlier errors and omissions regarding the M8.

Still, Leica M9 sales haven't been unduly affected. There is a very
long waiting list with people prepared to pay well over list price to
    get hold of one quickly.

  13. He's a landscape photographer! The Sony A900 has high ISO noise levels
because it's optimised for best performance at low ISOs -- which is
what landscape photographers want. You can't optimise a sensor for
both of best low ISO imge quality and high ISO noise performance. You
can choose one or the other. A sports or event photographer would
    choose high ISO noise performance.

An obvious lie, and pretty transparenty biased of you since you don't
even own one and likely have never used one.
Who cares about your defective honesty.

An obvious misquote, since it's dpreview themselves who have complained about
the setting up. What, they likely never used one now? But you're absolutely
right: it'll be a cold day on hell when I use a Canon product.

Obviously, no clue of the history of AF.
Obviously, you haven't yet cottoned to this: I don't give a shit what you and
your band of Canon shills think of me. It's how you expose your obvious shill
activity , lies and bias that should worry you. Not my honesty.

    There is no misquote.
Now you're just being stupid since they referred only to the location
of specific configuration options on the menus and not to the ability
    of the autofocus system.
Obviously you're just an arrogant idiot who thinks that everything
must be dumbed down to your level.
    I have.
