drop-outs when printing to DV

Discussion in 'Video Cameras' started by Jacqueline Matiaska, Jul 11, 2003.

  1. strange thing:

my firewire-connection from my sony DSR-PD150P to my PC (AMD 2.6 ghz+, 256
MB ram, harddrive 7200 rpm) works fine when capturing.

when printing to DV (using adobe premiere 6.5), or just playing back a clip
on the sony-display, i get drop outs every couple of seconds. the display
turn blue (no signal, i guess), and comes back a second later.

could it be lack of computing-power on my PC? that would amaze me, since
    capturing video works so flawlessly.

  2. You could try a different lead, maybe you lead is intermittent, I'm not sure
if that would manifest it's self during up load. maybe not, but it's worth
trying a different firewire lead, it's not always the software and the
computer that is at fault :)

There is a fix. It takes a little time and patience, but you only have
    to do it once. See:
