Minolta 2800 flash uses a very low trigger voltage < 2V according to the
measurements made so I tried it several times in the hot shoe and contrary
to S/S it works very well as a powerful manual flash. I was able to light up
at least 25 feet in total darkness using ISO 100 at F3.5 at 1/80 sec. Even
my 4000 AF should work but it is bigger than the camera. So it is nice to
know I can still use these fairly pricy flashes with the DSC-V1
    2800AF Yes 1.74V, per Manuel V. Galang
    1.65V from Jeroen Haringman

What are some drawbacks of having the Minolta 2800af flash mounted on the Sony dsc-v1 digicam?
