Question for the group about processors coming from someone who doesn't know
that much about how processors work.

    THE QUESTION
All the hype about dual core and the fact that it specs out as follows:
Pentium D 2 x 3.0 GHz 1 Mb Cache - - would that be SLOWER, EQUAL TO, SAME
AS, or FASTER, than a dual processor Pentium 4 with 3.0 GHz clock speed?

    WHY
I am looking at Liquid Edition 6.0 Pro for editing HDV and want to be above
the minimum specifications for the computer side and have just purchased a
dual core for Studio 9, which we are taking back tomorrow after nearly a
month of absolute heartaches, pain, suffering, and HELL, from continual
crashes (as many as 42 while trying to edit a 30 second commercial)

Please, anyone and everyone, feel free to through in your two - - cents,
pence, kronas, rubbles, yen, rands, etc. or any part thereof. We are
desperate for a complete solution to edit and make our movies. AND, thanks
in advance to all who respond.

  2. Doc, there are plenty of websites who have thrown in there penny on that
one with benchmark tests. One of the most noteable one is
www.tomshardware.com but there are plenty more.

    cheers
