Had a flier from The Computer World today offering a BTC DVD Writer Dual
Format For £99.99. A quick look round the web brings up the Sony DWU14A at
£116. Anybody any experience of these or others for around £100?

  4. No apologies required Rod, we all do it from time to time ! Eek, my
reply to you looks horribly curt on re-reading..

My vote's for the Pioneer 106 BTW ..

I'll second that. Damn great dual format drive from a respected brand.
Performs great, too. I got mine for a little over £130, 3 or 4 months ago.
It's down to around £100 for the bare drive if you look in the right places.

    Try one of these:

it, tried different discs with no problems, its a great drive IMHO.

And i'll third that, ive got a 105 and i beleive the 106 is almost
identical but adding the + format too.

Ive had no problems and not one single coaster and ive been through
    about 50 discs.
