I have never developed the first picture; but, when I had the opportunity to purchase two Durst Enlargers, I took advantage of a good deal, thinking I could set one up for 35mm and one for Medium format.. My questions are: What is the difference between these two enlargers? And, which of the two would be considered the better and more versatile model. I saw something about a CLS Color head for the 601; but, missed out on it because I didn't know if I needed it. All help will be appreciated. Jim Curtis
I'm really curious -- How does a photographic enalrger, an optical and film system, relate to Digital SLR cameras and periphery ? -- Dave | I have never developed the first picture; but, when I had the opportunity | to purchase two Durst Enlargers, I took advantage of a good deal, thinking | I could set one up for 35mm and one for Medium format.. | My questions are: What is the difference between these two enlargers? | And, which of the two would be considered the better and more versatile | model. Those enlargers certainly don't, but wasn't there a digital enlarger that allowed people to put digital images onto photographic paper? Seems like I heard about one some time ago. I don't know how it functioned. Some of the people doing black and white work were talking about it, because you can still do images on archival papers. -Rich
These are similar enlargers, made in Italy of very high quality. The difference between the two is that the M-601 will also handle the various digital RAW image formats, while the M-600 is limited to the usual TIFFs, JPGs, BMPs, etc.
