I have an .avi I drop and drag into the main DVD Architect Menu - it
shows up in a box but says 'Render Failure'. I use GSpot to figure out
what it is. 4cc->Xvid - apparently I have 4 decoders on my system. as
    well -
    Type: OpenDML AVI

Now I have to convert it to an MPEG2 in order for DVD architect to
recognize it. Why won't it recognize it? Do I have to install new

    Any suggestions?

DVD Architect will take an AVI file - as long it's an NTSC (or PAL) DV-AVI.
Xvid, Divx and most other similar AVIs have been modified to allow more
content for the same file size.
Bottom line is to have Vegas (you have DVDA so I'm assuming you it as well)
is to render out in the format I mentioned above.

  3. DVD Architect won't read XviD. It will read DivX though.

To make a DVD (using DVD Architect) of an XviD file you'll have to
convert it to something else, which will be time consuming & a quality

Sorry, I had the same problem a couple of years ago.

Anyone have much success importing Xvids into Vegas? I also seem to just
    end up with the Audio.
