DVD Recorder Info

Discussion in 'Video Cameras' started by Bruce Stewart, Oct 6, 2006.

  1. My Sony DVD recorder (RDR-GX3 (PAL)) has various modes for quality and
    recording length:

    Recorder Mode Recording Time (mins)
    HQ 60
    HSP 90
    SP 120
    LP 180
    EP 240
    SLP 360

Does the recorded resolution change as well as the bit rate? Is there any
site where I can get the resolution/bitrate figures for these modes, as my
Google-Fu seems to be unequal to this task.

Can you mix modes on the same disc? If so, record a few mins with each
setting, then look at the encoding system, resolution and bitrate using
    something like BitRateViewer...
