DVD will ONLY start playing at a chapter near the end of the disk.

In Pinnacle Studio, I have created a 51 Minute DVD using mpegs from my
new Sony Camcorder. The DVD physically appears to be nearly full
(which is normal), and yet the DVD will ONLY start playing at a
chapter right near the end of the DVD (There is no menu on the DVD).

I have tried this on 3 different DVD players with the same result. I
have re-burned the DVD 3 times. I have downloaded the latest patch
    (8.10.4c).

    Any help is appreciated!

    Thanks

  2. Jay,

I do not understand why you have several chapters but no menu where you can
select which chapter to play. There must be several videoTS files on your
DVD if it is 51 minutes long and they must be placed in the correct order on
the timeline. Then the player will start playing the first file it finds and
then make a default jump to the following file on the timeline if there is
no other instruction chosen from the menu.

    Peter,

Thanks so much for your reply. I have to admit that I am a DVD/mpeg
newbie although I am an experienced computer programmer.

I have not "played" with the menus much in Pinnacle Studio yet, but it
seems to me that it ought to build and play fine without a menu, no?
If not, why is a menu optional?

Where do I label a scene as a "chapter", anyway? This one scene that
it always starts with is labelled on my DVD screen (powerDVD) as
"chapter 1" but I see nowhere to change it.

    Again, thanks for the help
