Editing mpeg-2 video clip for DVD menu background, how to make it stop?

Some DVD author programs let you put a mpeg-2 clip in as the menu
background, my only problem is the mpeg-2 clip runs out and I'm left
with a black background? I'm using Sony Foundary's DVD Architect to
create the menu (although I've had this same problem with TMPEG DVD
    Author).

I'd like to know if the mpeg-2 contains loop or stop information (I've
noticed on a lot of commerical DVDs the background mpeg-2 plays, then
comes to a point where there is a still shot, then it loops again
after x amount of minutes has elapsed. I'd like to have the mpeg-2
play then have it feeze on the last frame, or I could take a snap shot
of this frame and include it (that would be cool too).

Does anyone have experience with this?

Don't know about Architect, but TmpgEnc DVDAuthor allows you to set
    the duration of the clip.

    Thanks,

Found it. DVD Architect does let you specify the duration, the problem
is that it guesses for you and sets that as the default duration and
it always seems to come in a little longer than it needs to be
(resulting in a blank image), so I manually set it about 1/4 of a
second shorter and it works perfect (stops on last frame), there's
also a loop option I found.
