It was a mistake for Canopus to withdraw the Storm Ultra bundle. I don't
want or need this power now, for example, and it is twice as expensive.

Canopus had to discontinue the DV Storms becuase several key chips are
no longer available. On top of that sales were very strong this past
holiday season, accelerating the end of the product.

You can get the Edius NX base board for $1249, then upgrade to the HDV
option down the road when you need it.

  4. Gary, any word out on 64-bit support for the NX? Now with the
introduction of Win 64, it's becoming an interesting idea to trade-up
my Storm, and rebuild my computer to 64 bit :)

    cheers

We expect to see 64bit support and optimization for all of our NLE
products over the next 6-12 months. It depends on each companies
developement cycle. Canopus has always been at the front of pushing
CPU performance and technlogoy. I think we may see something before
year end, but that is my own speculation - no hard info from Canopus.
