Entry-level Digital + lots of manual controls?

Discussion in 'Photography' started by Erick Peirson, Aug 7, 2004.

  1. I'm looking to purchase a good digital camera, but don't have a massive
budget. Seems like most entry-level cams don't have a lot of manual
options. Any thoughts? I was looking at the Olympus C-740...has anyone used
this camera? Is battery life any good?

  3. The Toshiba PDR-4300 is both cheap (~200$) and has complete manual modes
(program, shutter-priority, aperture priority and manual) - as well as spot
and matrix metering. Poor low-light auto-focus is the only thing I can
complain about with this camera and manual focusing is clumsy.
