The usual mail order shops: B&H, BestPriceAudioVideo, Adorama, etc.

Before you give out your credit card info, check

And be sure to get the list of everything you are paying for. Find out
what is standard with the 1Ds and what isn't. Some dealers strip the
kit and sell everything separately. And watch for extremely high
    shipping charges.

As my Dad taught me, the price of something and the cost of something
    are not always the same.

Jessops will usually price match any available UK price (high streee/UK
internet company) in my experience; some debate about Canon honouring US
warranties in the UK for digital cameras though not lenses; tho seem to
recall that last postings suggested that Canon Europe would do so, in
    which case would advise B&H.

....and Jacobs will match Jessops - that's the magic - if 'I' had the choice
    I'd go with Jessops.

The EOS-1Ds price here in the US is $7999.00. That's more like 4900
    GBP. Still a big difference.

  8. Hmm, Have you considered the delivery agent asking you at the door for the
import duty (5%) plus the VAT (17.5%).

    Doesn't look that cheap now...
