I've tried (unsuccessfully) to scan some old 126 negatives.
Is there a way to manually set up the scanner to scan these special formats
    in a reasonable simple manner?

  2. When it starts to scan in auto mode, just hit the cancel button and that
should switch to manual mode where you can preview, crop and adjust
until your heart is content - then scan. ;-)

    Thanks for answer.
Yes I can scan manually, but I cannot figure out how to split the images
as its done automatically with the 35 mm film. I can split in i.i Photoshop,
    but to
achieve acceptable resolution the process takes too long time having a few
    hundred
    film strips to process.
Any hints on how it can be done efficiently?

  4. No problem if you are using Photoshop - just write a batch instruction
to do the job for you, cut and paste the single frames from the neg
strip and save them individually with unique file names. Look under
File|Automate. Photoshop Help contains pretty useful instructions on
how to write and use such macros.
