I used them for the previous 3 yeasr and got great pictures, much better
than high street 1 hour labs (I learnt my lesson with Max Spielmann whos
pictures came out dusty with a tint of brown!) however my wife sent a film
last summer and we have heard nothing - no pictures & no cheque cashed
either. Does anyone know whether they still in business?

  2. Sounds like Spielmann's improved things from the last time I used them then

    Hello Neil...

I've just received my latest piccies from York Excel Photo
Laboratories...and a jolly good job they've done too.

Given that your cheque hasn't been cashed after all this time..I suspect
your film has disappeared into the postal black hole never to be seen again.

    Regards...

  4. I used to use Max Spielmann, but they have now stopped doing their mail
order service. I now use Peak Imaging.

Anybody tried D-lab in the Channel Islands?

Im concerned that Customs might zap them.

  7. I use dlab for all my slides. Never had any problems at all.
It is highly unlikely Customs would ever xray them. From memory, I don't
thing they even had the machines to, at Mount Pleasant anyway. Dogs yes, but
    xray machines, no.

  8. If you mean Dlab7 (part of 7dayshop), I used them once. I couldn't detect
any signs of X-Ray damage but the quality of the processing on all 5 films
was so poor I immediately went back to using Peak

I've used York-Excel for black and white twice and both times I was
    disappointed with them.

I've been using DLab7 for colour slides for awhile now and have been happy
with the results on the slides and very impressed with the prints from
slide; however, having slides put on CD was a disappointment.

Usual GPO/Royal Mail performance i.e. most of what you post ends up in a skip
    somewhere.
