Then there is the aspect that if his little joke caused someone to die
of a heart attack, then he would be charged with murder!

You consider making threats funny? I don't. It certainly wouldn't be
funny to the person so threatened.

It is interesting that you feel that a company guarding its 'bottom
line' against fraud, misrepresentation, and abuse is 'evil'.

And customers who have your attitude are the cause of so many of those
same rules you dislike so much. Frankly, if someone characterized me in
the way you do the clerk, I might be more inclined to punch him in the
family jewels than help him resolve his complaint.

You don't even have to SAY it is a gun, you only have to imply it to the
point of it being construed as a threat.

It's always funny till somebody gets hurt. Play your little game- what if
there is an off-duty cop (or even a private citizen with a carry permit) in
the store, and they intervene with deadly force? Or if the clerk happens to
have a bad ticker, and they keel over dead? Unless you are a little kid,
stunts like that can make YOU dead, or put you in prison. Lots of banks are
robbed with hands in pockets. It is still a felony. Threaten somebody in a
way that they reasonably fear for their life, and they can kill you and not
have to face anything but paperwork. And there will probably be a video
record to back them up. Look up next time you are in the store- see the
shiny spheres, or the silver ceiling panels? Those are CAMERAS.

especially if the threatener is a kooky columbine looking kid.

or they intervene, but an innocent bystander gets killed? YOU get
    charged for that as well.

Isn't there something about entering a premises with intent to commit
    even a misemeanor constituting "burglary"?

The fellow who started this VERY Off-topic cascade is clearly stunted
at age eleven; there's little doubt he will learn nothing from the
exchanges, and the rest of us know better than to try comic-book
behavior where it actually affects others (however much we might
fantasize karate-chopping young doofuses with something hidden in
    their coats!).

  11. So you feel it is necessary to force a customer to demonstrate a
defective piece of electronics gear in a restroom in order to guard
against fraud? Do you feel it's necessary to waste 20 minutes of a
customer's valuable time on a transaction that should take closer to 2

Stop trying to defend the indefensible. You're just making yourself
    look foolish.

  13. What attitude is that? Standing up for my rights? Saying "no" to
bullshit corporate attempts to badger me into purchasing something I
    don't want?

  14. If you read my posts for comprehension, you would know that I saw the
light more than three years ago.

Since then I have been helping others to see that light. Perhaps if
you took your blinders off you would be able to see it, as well.

I can't help but think that there might be more to the OP's story than
meets the eye -- we have only heard one side, and there are two sides
    to every story.

I have done business with the local BB for years and in that time have
returned several items (some big ticket) for verious manufacturing
defects, and not once, *never*, have I had to demonstrate or even show
the defect. In most cases they didn't even open the box, and when they
did, it was only to check that all the parts were there.

The return/exchange service has always been fast and friendly (and no, I
do not stop to have my receipt or package checked by the 'door goon',
whether it be BB, Fry's, Target, or any other store; I just walk on by.)

Maybe the quality of service varies in different BB's or different parts
of the country, but I have never had a bad experience at BB. YMMV.

  18. People with attitudes like, "The Real Bev" obviously
lack the life experiences to understand that point.

If she is ever the target of a REAL armed robbery in
HER workplace, I bet she will change her attitude real

Bev also thinks that pushing a car on the freeway makes good sense, as
well - so take her advice accordingly.
