I have Noons kf'd, so don't generally partake in responding to his
lunacy, but FTR *I don't see it either*.

Anyone? (With a clue, that is?)

Listen, you cretin: the photos are YOURS.
Don't ask me to produce samples of YOUR crap.
Get off your lard ass and check them YOURSELF.
Better than the lunatic crap you utter at every corner.

    Helen,
after your wild claims of correct monitor setup followed by your own admission
that indeed your monitor was fucked up, I suggest you shut the **** up and don't
even pretend to "close" anything: you simply do NOT have the authority or
    credibility, you STUPID BITCH!

Who the heck cares what you don't "see", moron?
You haven't been able to properly sharpen an image for years and you claim to
    "see" anything?

you must first pull your head out of your arse to see anything, imbecile.

  6. Noons,

I don't particularly care about Helen's monitor or banding in Bret's
images, real or imagined. But I am truly concerned about you. Well,
    sort of.

Is the vitriol you spew here and elsewhere just a kind of juvenile
attempt at humor, i.e., are you chuckling away as you type these
messages? That is, are you just trying, in a typically juvenile manner,
to rile things up, you know, to get some attention? If so, while it's
kind of perverse, it is not uncommon adolescent behavior and is
relatively harmless for both the spewer and the spewee. Sticks and
    stones, etc.

If, on the other hand, your ranting and raving actually reflects your
mood while pounding on the keyboard, then you may have a serious
personality disorder. I know you won't take kindly to this advice, but
you do need to speak with a professional to sort out your problems
before they get out of hand. In the event, I hope you don't have access
    to firearms.

What AC has isn't the issue. I have a calibrated Lacie monitor and I
can't see the banding that Noons claims is so prevalent in my pics. I
can't even see it at work on an uncalibrated cheapo Dell monitor.
Also, none of the banding ever shows up in prints so it simply doesn't
exist, except in Noon's warped mind.

Maybe Noons has his monitor set on it's lowest (8 bit) setting?
Maybe Noons is using some crappy video card?
Maybe Noons is just a jealous fuckwit trying to get in a dig?
    Who cares?

Dear me. Another "Usenet concerned mother figure"....
Listen, dipshit. Go back a year or so and check what Helen and her fuckwit
friend said about my family. Instead of spouting off like you know what you are
    talking about.

As for age: I'm older than your mother, so shut the **** up.

Yeah. It's called: I don't give a **** about you and other dipshits like you.
    Got it?
Really? Oh my: another armchair psychologist. Two a ton in the Usenet...

I don't live in an uncivilized country like yours. Here, we sort things out in
another fashion. One that cowards fuckwits like Bret don't like to play.

A normal, intelligent person would take that as a very strong hint that your
LaCompagnie monitor is just as uncalibrated as the Dell shit you have at work.
But not you: it's all OK provided it reinforces your monumental need for
    approval, ain't it?
No banding ever shows up in prints unless it is so obvious it'll jump out of the
paper, moron: prints don't have anywhere the same range as the worse monitor
possible. NOt the ones that you can produce at home, anyway.
and in your photos. Facts are facts.

Monitors have an 8bit setting? Amazing. The extent of your ignorance and
    stupidity knows no bounds...

    It gets even more stupid:
The video card has nothing to do with monitor setup, moron.
Like: I give a shit what you do?
Obviously, you and the dipshits that you enlist to kiss your arse in public.
What's the matter? Business going slow and you need reinforcement or more spamming?

Normal people just let you know the crap you are producing.
    Period.

  16. Having already broken my rule not to get involved in personal
confrontations on newsgroups, I won't take this any further.

One correction, however: As for age, it's most likely I'm old enough to
be your father. Not that it matters.

I totally agree with your post Harry. I refuse to reply to him
because it's clear he has mental and anger problems. It actually
makes me laugh when he twists stories. The truth is my first monitor
lacked the proper calibration and I agreed wholeheartedly with Mark
Thomas when he suggested it. In fact it was broken. I didn't get
upset about it, I just got a new one which made me see how bad the
first one was. The pics I submitted to the SI were evident of how bad
my first monitor was. Noons tries to twist the truth all the time.
It is very sad indeed. I have never said a cross or bad thing about
his family. I did say that he was a bad influence on his children
with his sexist, childish and slanderous attacks on people.

The only one here with a mental problem is you, STUPID BITCH.
Nevertheless, when the same was suggested to you LONG BEFORE Mark opened his
trap on the subject, your reply was insulting and in character with the sheer
incompetence and stupidity of every other of your interventions.

As was told to you MANY times before your hero opened his gob.

Ah ok: so me pointing out to you that your monitor was crap and you admitting
that what you submitted was crap as a result is me "twisting the truth", eh?

Do you even register how STUPID you sound with every reply, you BITCH?
And on top of that you lie.
That was an insult to me, not my family. Those I simply ignore, STUPID BITCH.

Now be good and go back to the putrid hole you crawled from and stop insulting
everyone's intelligence with your idiotic remarks.
    There's a good bitch.

On the contrary, it would appear that your monitor is the problem
since apparently you are the only one seeing this mysterious banding.
And the fact that you can't point to where it occurs in the photo or
provide and example just proves you're talking out of your ass as
    usual.

My Lacie monitor is a few years old, but when I calibrate it with my
    Gretag-Macbeth Eye-One it does fine.

Hey, I think I figured it out!
Noons is running his PC in Safe mode, aka VGA mode.
This does in fact give you 8-bit, 256 color resolution, and lotsa
    banding.
