    Hi,

I got some problems scanning films with an Epson Perfection 3170 film.
The pictures are not always correctly framed.
Colours can be quite weird too, whereas the prints I got with the films
    are fine.

Is it a really bad scanner to scan films ?
Or do you have some recommendations I could follow ?

    Thanks.

I have the Epson 4180, so am not entirely sure they use similar software.
You can change the cropping options to not crop too tightly if that is your
problem, and as for the colour, mine also flattens the contrast a bit and
the colours need adjusting a tad to liven the pic up a bit. You might have
to set user defined parameters in the software to increase saturation,
contract etc when you scan your pics.

    cheers
