So sorry to hear that. FCP has had problems with every OS release. I gave up
on it at 4.5 But .. it may be a good thing that you can not find any info
about it. You may be the only one with the problem. Which may mean it has
nothing to do with Tigger. I'll bet there's something else going on there.
Does this happen with legacy projects or new ones?

    does it with any project

always gives me problems especially when deadlines are drawing close :-(

maybe its time to look at alternative NLEs

what are you using inplace of FCP?

I have no problems, but I installed FCP after
I upgraded to 10.4. If you did it the other way
around you may have a preference or permissions
    problem.

  5. This is my experience as well.

Upgraded to 10.4 - then installed FCP 5 and the two projects currently
in house - (interestingly both are 2+hour multi-camera live shows capped
in offline RT to try out the new Multicam FCP implementation) are going
    smoothly.

No software or hardware issues so far.

Tho I *did* have to resort to the manual to learn the pecularities of
    multicam.

I did - a re-install of FCP sorted it. Tiger killed off Motion 1
completely for me, I never did get it working with Tiger.
As someone else pointed out, FCP doesn't seem to like having Tiger
installed aftwerwards (which is the onle way it's going to happen
    normally).

I was upgrading to FCP 5 anyway, just had to wait a couple of weeks to
get that, but FCP 4.5 did work on TIger after re-installing it, and
worked as well as it had before.

I would agree, I have had no problems with FCP 5 as yet, and I have done
two projects with it, one 90 minutes long, and one 4 minutes long - but
with over 3 hours of source material (including a 3 camera interview).
Seconded, it fixed the issue of no HDV import from my Sony FX1E.
It is a bit odd to begin with - I downloaded a clip from the Apple site
about multi-cam editing which helped me to pick it up quickly.

But multicam editing is what I have been after for a long time, and this
    works well.

My current project involves a 3 camera shoot for most of it, and a small
part of it will be a 6 camera shoot. The editing so far has been very
easy, and this is one a very small budget. FCP 5 has performed well, and
    continues to do so.

I hated FCP so much I haven't turned it on in a year or more. I am cutting
everything with Premiere Pro. It is vastly more cooperative than Final Klutz
and about 5 times faster at EVERYTHING.

That's sad. YOu had to upgrade in order to be able to render. If I were you
I would give the numbnuts at Apple a piece of my mind. They're so busy
making cheapo MP3 players .. they may not have time to listen to you.
