I recently received a nice bonus and was going to finally bite the
proverbial bullet and get a DSLR. I had debated between the reduced
price Canon 30D and the Pentax K10D, deciding to go with the K10D
because then I can get body only for now, as I already have several
Pentax SLRs ranging from Spotmatics and K1000's to newer M10's and an M7.

So I jump online to find the best deal and voila, they are all gone!
Just talked to one photoshop and he said that the K20D should be out in
a "few months". So now, I am faced with a dilemma, do I keep hunting for
someone that might have one in stock (in Canada) or do I bide my time
and wait for the 20D? There is no mention of it on Pentax Canada's site
so I have NO idea what it is going to sell for..

    thanks

Cheap, $650 for the body. The new one will cost $1100 for the body.
Is the jump to 15 megapixels needed, or any other feature change?
There is nothing as good as the K10D for its price right now. Next
step would be one of the remaining D200s for about $1000.00.

There is some K10D's still available south of the 49th I see, and the
exchange is favorable right now, I just don't know about warranty issues
and what the duty is. Still looking around for some stragglers up
    here, nothing yet..

Pentax and Samsung collaborated on this camera, and the Samsung GX-10
is virtually identical. You could try looking for the GX-10.

  5. You could check out PentaxForums.com where they have a marketplace.
You could certainly get a cheap used K10D in the next few weeks as
people sell backup bodies and such.

There was quite a few new bodies on Ebay, I was ready to pick one up for
$650, but managed to find one store up here that still had a few left
and picked one up yesterday. I paid a bit more but I'll get it quicker
and I wasn't sure how warranty works for across border purchases
