Really? Then why did you make it public if
it's so "personal" and no one else's business?

I'm just dredging up something to whine about. You, of all people in this
newsgroup, should be sympathetic to that motivation.

That said, I've been having some phone line problems and am still catching up.
I guess I didn't notice that the message I replied to was a few days old.
Sorry if I offended your aesthetic sensibilities.

Why? Cite examples where I dredged up anything older
than a couple of days. If not, then you just proved
to the world the fool you are.
Of course not. Did you even properly READ
the message and its history? No need to answer,
anyone can figure out the reply.
What does aesthetics got to do with your
imbecile trolling and your obvious inability
    to follow a discussion thread?

In simple terms that hopefully you will
be able to understand, phone line or
    no phone line: get lost.

The 40D was a gift to Bret for personal reasons that is nobody's
business but ours. Why would I ask for it back? To be quite honest
it would hurt my feelings if I were given it back. The 40D will come
in handy as a backup camera for him.
I have a number of film cameras and 2 DSLRs both of which are Canon.
Bret offered me a choice of any camera and I choose the 20D. He has a
    big heart.
    Helen

If it was for personal reasons then why not keep that to yourselves, you
chose to disclose this so have involved others in the deal and all they are
doing is joining in the fun.

For the record, it was Bret who disclosed to everyone that I bought
him the camera. He did this thinking it would give accolades to me and
to show how very appreciative and grateful he is. In retrospect,
knowing the trouble this would have caused, I know he would have kept
the whole gift giving thing just between the two of us.
