Flickr still the ugliest, cheeziest photo site on the net

Flickr is indeed really complicated! Although I use most of those
features and there are still things I would like added. They do keep
adding though, and simplifying as much as possible. Compare it to an
application like Lightroom, which is pretty complicated to operate.

Who cares? It's just another reason to avoid Flickr.

There are plenty of other ways of selling images. Flickr is
    irrelevant, except to wannabes.

I'd just like to say that I have been flicking (is that the correct
word?) through your images on Flickr during breaks from work.

You have some very fine images on your Flickr site, Paul, and I have
really enjoyed browsing through them. Thank you.

So you closed it. Why didn't you just answer the original question in
    the affirmative?

What colour would you like for the background? Whatever colour you
choose would like good for some images and bad for others.

  7. It's not surprising there are better ways of selling images than
Flickr which specifically forbids sales and may cancel your account if
they find you selling :) That's not what it's for.

I don't know what is meant by "Ask any pro photog how they like hack
amateurs infesting the image banks with their images". There's no need
to join an "infested" "image bank", and it's very easy to set up
moderated "image banks". There are a number of pros who use Flickr
for teaching purposes. I've learnt a lot from some of them.

    I didn't close anything. I don't/didn't have a Flickr account. If
I'd thought Flickr which is free was suitable for images, why would I
    pay for Pbase?

I actually just got an offer to sell a photo to a big name magazine the
other day from flickr for a reasonable price. Not a big deal but
professional enough to be worth my time. First time that's happened,
usually it's someone who wants it for free.
