Are there any Contax owners out there that can provide me with a quick
explanation of the remote cable release unit? I just bought one on
eBay and no instructions were included. I tried it, and it works, but
I'm a little confused on the two ways that it trips the camera (I have
a G2). Any help welcome. Thanks.

    Hi Joe

Unfortunately Contax Remote switch come from old non AF Contax system.
So there is only 2 wire connection. one ground , one shutter release.
So when you press the remote release button, The G2 going to focus,
Autoexposure ( some lag time) and then release the shutter.
The slide is to lock the shutter into bulb setting.

    Hope this help.

Thank you, this helps a lot. No wonder it was not intuitive.
