foreign lenses?

Just was curious what some of you thought of imported lenses for use with
    our SLRs.

I was browsing today, and I found a "Granit" 80-200mm zoom lens, designed
for a Russian screw-mount M42, weighing .95 kilos, and only $149, with an
adapter to fit Canon FD mounting. Still another, 200mm telephoto lens of
    f-stop 4 for $80, also a Russian M42 with Canon FD adapter. I've been
looking alot more at the Russian lenses lately, as my local shop seems to be
getting them in for good prices.

Wondering, do any of you use any or alot of imports, little-known
manufacturers, or otherwise nonstandard lenses with your cameras? If so,
how do they measure up? In particular, anyone familiar with using the
Russian M42 mount lenses? Any quirks?
