Fraud Alert

  1. George Preddy appears has created a number of Gmail accounts in the name of
regular posters here. I presume it is in the lead up to his sock puppet
    voting for a Sigma account.

He has attempted to impersonate me by "inviting" me to sign up with Gmail
using an account with several characters added to ryadia in the name to
conceal or dupe people into believing a valid vote might come from me.

Not that anyone gives a Hoot... As of right now, I will stop using ryadia
    for a nic on Usenet.

I decided to take Alan Browne's advice and not change my user name.
No point in letting the bastard have a win.

    Likewise. Why does he bother?

Well, that's enough typing time expended on George for the day, off to do
    something more interesting...

I received such an invite from Alan Browne recently, which I found curious.
    Probably wasn't him at all.

Doh!! Actually it was! And I sent some to a few other "good citizens"
of these parts ... one of whom wrote me an e-mail on my other account to
check... This was cooincidental and before me knowing that Preddy was
    doing it for other reasons.

(I too eventually received an invite from Preddy).

    Cheers,
    Alan.

Well that's comforting to know... For a while there I thought you were
    getting special treatment.

I do have a gmail account, but only use it to log into the groups there. My
comcast address or mattclara.com address are the best ways to reach me.

.... just sent as a courtesy ... it's nice to have an address that's
    available from public access computers...

    Cheers,

  10. But then, I didn't get an invite.
I feel left out ;-) (not really).

Inquiring minds want to understand ...

  11. You have to directly challenge the perp., or make comments about cowards
hiding behind layers of remailers and nyms.

I'll forward mine if you like!

Who's George Preddy? Who cares. Killfile him like I did, and he simply
goes away. This is the first I've heard mention of him in months and
    months.

    Poor Matt
Used his killfile and missed out on all the fun.
Oh Dear, how absolutely boring life must be for you Matt.

Yeah, that's why I'm in England visiting places like Tintagel, and going to
a different pub every night of the week for my allotment of Guiness...
