Fretting forearm problem

    I've been playing a lot lately and seem to have developed a tennis elbow-like
    pain in my left arm. Mostly in the muscle just below the elbow. Any
    suggestions?

    I'm trying a cold pack to see if that helps.

    how old are you (not being rude)? after a certain age repetitive
    movements, especially 'concentrated' ones can lead to a form of rsi. i'm
    over 60 and just had a frozen shoulder appear (and thankfully disappear)
    from nowhere. i now use a tablet instead of a mouse which was beginning
    to give me quite painful spasms across the back of my hand....

    Ty, when I had a wrist pain problem a few years back, my doctor
    recommended a device specifically meant for tennis elbow (sorry but I
    can't think of the name of it right now) that strapped onto my arm and
    put pressure on a specific point.
    As I recall, I bought it at a sports medicine shop and it did work.

  5. Ty, Since the tendons, which actuate the fingers, is controlled by the
    forearm muscles, is it possible that you might be low on potasium?
    After I came out of my coma and relearned how to play (still not near as
    good as I used to) I had problems with both athrophy of the muscles and
    stamina. As I became more proficiant and able to make fair enough sounds, I
    attacked the stamina part of things. I was told that I had a potasium
    deficiency.

    Potatoes and bannas are high in it. Also karrob <sp> powder.

    After getting the potasium back in balance the charley horses and cramps
    dissapated.
    How's your diet lately?
    Just a thought, YMMV :)

    Too high in potassium can cause heart arrhythmias and also cause jumpiness
    and tightness in the muscles. I might also recommend vitamin D.
    The dosages in D have been doubled recently. Important for joints
    and different things. That along with C and Glucosamine and Chondroitin
    suppliment will give results. I also take some magnesium sometimes,
    especially when my heart acts up.

    I found a nice inexpensive suppliment at the local grocery chain
    with Calcium, Magnesium, and D all in one. The chine also has
    the cheapest Glucosamine and Chondroitin suppliment I
    have seen. Happens to be Giant Eagle grocery.

    Why the hell have you crossposted this to so many unrelated groups? Have you
    never heard of netiquette or are you just so self-important you think you
    are beyond any consideration for others? (follow-ups set to aapls only).
    Never heard it called "playing" before but you should stop it before you go
    blind !!! I know for you it is sex with someone you love but you should try
    it with a real woman one day (or ask Mr Assillon if you can borrow Glenda
    along with the foot-pump and the puncture repair kit) ;-)

    I recommend Ginger. You can reach her on 555-FUN-TIME.

    Seriously though, ginger is very good for the joints and health in general.
    Ginger tea is good or just take supplements in capsule form if you don't
    like the taste. Same goes for fish oils. My great-gran lived to 104 and
    hardly suffered from arthritis and joint pains at all, something she put
    down to eating lots of ginger.
    No idea what this has to do with live sound but try glucosamine sulphate for
    muscular and joint aches. Tiger balm rubbed into the joints can help in the
    short term.

    I got a Cho-Pat elbow band and had an energy worker do some work on it last
    night. She said it was pretty dense; up to the shoulder and down to the
    wrist. It's feeling a little different today.

    Interesting, I use one of those. Also putting the laptop down with that hand
    holding it from one side causes some strain.

    Limitations suck.
